"We're not just Horsing around!"

Several of our districts have been organized in a new Division to better serve their scouts.

George Strake, Arrowmoon, David Crockett, and Brahman districts are now in the Frontier Division

a letter from Stan Stanley...

Dear Scouting friends in the new Frontier Division:

As you are aware, Sam Houston Area Council is making some Division realignments January 1, 2011,  Recognizing that some Divisions were too large to be effectively managed, our Council has created the new Frontier Division which encompasses your particular Districts.  We’re excited about this process and know that each of you will be a catalyst in making this change very successful for Scouting. This will allow our Scouting program to be more geographically managed and will hopefully create a more positive impact on the youth in our program.

With this change, we are making some adjustments with our Council Commissioner staff.   Effective January 1, 2011,  Dan Goetzman will step in as Division Commissioner for the Frontier Division.  Dan’s lengthy Scouting background and his spirit and love for our great program will be a major factor in helping the Frontier Division kick off in grand fashion.

As most of you are aware, Nathan Doherty has been selected as Field Director for the Frontier Division and having worked with Nathan for several years, I can assure you that you have an outstanding professional staff person to  work with Dan and each of you to set new records of success as you begin 2011.

Each of you are so important to the future of Scouting and we look forward to impacting the second century of Scouting through our efforts in Commissioner service.

Best wishes to each of you and your families for a great 2011!

Until the next campfire…..

Stan Stanley

Council Commissioner
