"We're not just Horsing around!"
We have room in our September 22/23 Wilderness and Remote First Aid program and our September 28-30 Deer Lake Canoe Clinic. Both programs will be held at The Grand Lake Dining Hall, BSA Camp Strake North of Houston, near Conroe, TX. The programs are hosted by The NBO Scout Training Team and BSA Crew-911. They are open to Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, American Heritage Girls, other approved youth organizations and their adult leaders. The American Red Cross WaRFA program is designed especially for mature Venture age teenagers and their adult leaders that are planning to participate in High Adventure activities. The WaRFA certification, in conjunction with other ARC programs we offer, can form the basis for completing the Venturing Ranger First Aid Elective. The Deer Lake Canoe Clinic provides American Red Cross FUNdamentals of Canoeing or Kayaking and is a fun training weekend designed for mature Scouts, 12 years old and older training with their adult leaders. We also offer the American Red Cross Emergency Medical Response program which is presented along with Lifeguarding. Registration for our EMR/LG "Class of 2013" which will begin Sunday, January 6, 2013 is now open to mature Venture age teenagers and Scouters.
Currently certified American Red Cross FA-CPR/AED for the Lay Responder-Instructors that are interested in becoming certified to teach the WaRFA program are welcome to observe/co-teach with us. We offer instructor certification for The American Red Cross revised and updated Fundamentals of Canoeing program at The Deer Lake Canoe Clinic too.
